The Turkish Day Parade led by Federation of Turkish American Associations (FTAA) was held in New York on Saturday, May 24.

Before the Turkish Day Parade, a Turkish flag was hoisted on Thursday at the Bowling Green Park close to New York's Wall Street.Turkish Consul General Mehmet Samsar said during the ceremony that there were strong friendship ties between Turkey and USA for long years.

 

turkish-day-parade.jpgTurkish Day Parade started at the intersection of Madison Avenue and 56th Street and ended at the Dag Hammarskjold Park close to the Turkish House. Thousands of Turkish people and officials including Turkish State Minister Mustafa Said Yazicioglu attended the parade.

 

A reception was held by Federation of Turkish American Associations Chairman Kaya Boztepe in Manhattan within the scope of Turkish Parade.

 

Yazicioglu, speaking in the reception, said that when Turkish society in the United States acted in solidarity and unity, it would have the highest benefit from the opportunities the U.S. democracy and economy presented. He added that this would contribute to further development of relations between Turkey and the United States.
