Station Casinos to Host Largest 4th of July Fireworks Show

Six Station Casinos properties will host what is being billed by Grucci’s of New York as the largest fireworks show west of the Mississippi on Friday, July 4, beginning at 9:30 p.m. for the entire community to enjoy. “Lights Over Vegas” will be a nine-minute fireworks show in celebration of the nation’s 232nd birthday and will be featured at Red Rock Resort, Green Valley Ranch, Texas Station, Fiesta Rancho, Sunset Station and Santa Fe Station. The fireworks will be choreographed to music paying tribute to America from top recording artists and broadcast on four local radio stations including 96.3 FM, 104.3 FM, 102.7 FM and 720 AM.

 

Christian Audigier The Nightclub to Open at Treasure Island

Pure Management Group and famed fashion designer Christian Audigier have teamed up to create a new nightclub on the Strip called ‘Christian Audigier The Nightclub’ at Treasure Island. The nightclub is scheduled to open July 4th weekend in the space formerly occupied by Tangerine. Known worldwide in the fashion industry, Audigier has popularized and created such lines as Ed Hardy, Smet, Crystal Rock and his namesake brand. The rock ‘n roll, glam-inspired style will be evident throughout the nightclub including roses, skulls, gleaming crystals and black glass chandeliers.

 

Aliante Station Now Accepting Reservations

Station Casinos’ newest property Aliante Station, scheduled to open in late-2008 in North Las Vegas, has begun taking hotel room reservations. Although scheduled to open in late-2008, January 1, 2009 will be the first date that hotel reservations will be honored. The 202 guest rooms and suites at Aliante Station range from 400 square feet to 1,500 square feet and include a contemporary design, 42-inch plasma televisions, CD player with IPod jack, and high speed internet.

 

iBar at Rio Launches Microsoft Surface Technology

Harrah’s Operating Company, a subsidiary of Harrah’s Entertainment, and Microsoft Corp. have announced the debut of Harrah’s first Microsoft Surface deployment at iBar ultra-lounge located inside Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. Microsoft Surface is the first commercially available surface computer with a 30-inch table-like display that enables individuals to interact with digital content by using touch. Without a mouse or keyboard, the 360-degree user interface and massive multi-touch capabilities provide Rio guests with the opportunity to flirt with other tables, view popular online videos, order signature cocktails, play games and even tour all of Harrah’s Vegas properties without ever leaving their seats.

 

The Mirage Welcomes Tiger Cubs to Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden

The Mirage has welcomed its newest addition to Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat – six-week-old white, white-striped and golden tiger cubs. Plans to involve Clark County School District students in the naming of a cub will be announced in the form of a contest at a later date. The cubs join other rare and exotic animals residing within the Secret Garden including the Royal White Tigers of Nevada, the White Lions of Timbavati, gold heterozygous tigers carrying the gold and white gene, Africa and Asian leopards, a black panther and a snow leopard.

Four Seasons Las Vegas Offers Meeting Attendees “Blackberry Breaks”

Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas has introduced an innovative meeting break that pairs Blackberry care and service with a whimsical, blackberry-themed menu allowing attendees to recharge their PDAs and minds between sessions. During 30-minute Blackberry Breaks, meeting attendees can leave their PDAs with a trained Blackberry Valet who will clean and recharge the gadgets as well as offer advice, answer technical questions and troubleshoot. Charging stations with multiple docking outlets and an internet kiosk can also be arranged. The breaks are paired with a blackberry-inspired menu from Executive Chef Michael Goodman featuring such items as Ginger Duck Breast with Blackberry Compote served in a Chilled Cucumber Cup and a Blackberry Ceviche.

 

Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower Debuts Lucky 8/8/08 Wedding Package

On 8/8/08, the Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower will marry 88 lucky couples en masse in a ceremony at 8:08 p.m. on Level 108 as part of the resort’s “Lucky 8/8/08 Wedding Package.” The cost of participation is $8.88 for the first 88 couples who contact the Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower’s Catering Office. The package includes participation in the en masse ceremony, complimentary admission to Level 108’s Indoor Observation Deck, minister fees, complimentary glass of champagne, complimentary admission on each of the three thrill rides and a complimentary photo from Cashman Photo. Special room rates are also available.

 

Local Restaurant Critic Launches Web Site

John Curtas, restaurant critic for News 88.9 FM KNPR-Nevada Public Radio and KLAS TV Channel 8 (CBS) has launched his website/blog www.EATingLV.com. The site will feature regular reports from Curtas as he eats his way through the restaurants of Las Vegas, an archive of the past 10 years of his reviews, and re-broadcasts of his weekly segments on radio and television.
