Leading hotel booking agent Conference Care has unveiled to its clients what is understood to be the UK’s largest database of hotels and venues with a social conscience; Conference Care’s Venue Sustainability Rating.

The Midlands based agency has developed the most encompassing database of hotels and venues in the UK, which gives a snapshot of the venue’s CSR practices including recycling and waste; energy and efficiency; contribution to the local community.

conference-care.jpgCollated since early 2008, the Venue Sustainability Rating database draws information directly from the venues by means of an online survey at www.conferencecare.com/venuesurvey .  Sophisticated analysis then assigns an individual Sustainability Rating to each property and helps the corporate event planner in their decision making process. The rating can also be used as a criterion of choice in venue searches.

As just one of a handful of agencies already ISO 14001 certified, the database demonstrates Conference Care’s commitment to socially aware meetings and events. Hotel groups already committed to the Sustainability Rating include Q hotels, DeVere Venues, Marriott Hotels and Barcelo.

Chris Peacock, Director of Conference Care said: “We are committed to demonstrating our own and our clients’ social conscience when it comes to meetings and events. The Venue Sustainability Rating has been well received by the whole of the industry, and now forms part of our standard client proposals.”
