Summer is the season of opportunity at Greater Phoenix's luxury resorts, where rates are at the lowest they'll be all year.
The new Love Your Luggage package at Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa reimburses guests for airline luggage fees. Resort guests who show proof of a luggage charge will be reimbursed $25 per person, up to $50 per guest room. The Love Your Luggage package includes one night in a traditional guest room and is valid through Dec. 31, 2008. The package rate starts at $169, exclusive of tax and gratuity.
To celebrate the opening of Arizona's first LEGO store at the nearby Chandler Fashion Center, Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa has partnered with LEGO to be the first resort to offer a Master Build Workshop Weekend. Offered July 19-20 and Aug. 2-3, the Master Build Workshop Weekend will give a limited number of lucky resort guests the opportunity to learn advanced building techniques with a certified LEGO Master Builder. Participants will work hand-in-hand with the Master-Builder to create a life-sized, one-of-a-kind LEGO creation especially designed for this event. This package is suggested for children 6-12 years old and is limited to 50 participants per workshop. The package, which starts at $249, includes one night in a luxurious guest room, access for one child to the two-day LEGO Master Builder Class, an exclusive video presentation for the whole family by the LEGO Master Builder, a $25 LEGO Gift Card, a LEGO Club Membership, and a coupon redeemable at the LEGO Store for a Pick-A-Brick Cup.
The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa caters to Arizona residents this time of year, and summer specials help families plan the perfect weekend "staycation." The resort's Summer Escape Package, which starts from $199 a night and includes a daily $50 "FUN" credit is available through Sept. 14, 2008. Guests of The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa also can enjoy the latest summer movie releases, as well as pre- and post-movie activities, during Blockbuster Weekends. Guests can participate in special blockbuster-themed activities, watch movies poolside, and have the resort's FUN Department assist them in purchasing tickets to blockbuster releases and arrange for transportation to and from the movie theater.
The Clarendon Hotel + Suites, a boutique hotel in midtown Phoenix, is offering Bikini Check-In throughout the summer. If guests check in wearing a bikini (or, for men, swim trunks or a Speedo), they receive a $20 credit that can be used for poolside service, room service or in the hotel's old-school Mexican restaurant, Clarendon Kitchen. The Clarendon's award-winning swimming pool features a gold-and-platinum-accented catwalk and the world's largest hotel water wall.
The Mondrian, an urban resort designed by Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, is offering a pair of summer specials through Aug. 28. Residents of the Grand Canyon State can take advantage of the Arizona Locals Rate, which starts at $95 and can be booked online at www.mondrianscottsdale.com/local. The Relax Package, meanwhile, starts at $145 and includes a summer/pool amenity upon arrival, a $25 food-and-beverage credit at BLUE, an Agua Spa mini treatment, and 20 percent off any additional spa treatments.
By the end of 2008, Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa will have spent more than $50 million on the 21,000-square-foot Spa Avania; an all-new lobby and Lobby Bar; the addition of SWB, a Southwest Bistro; Alto ristorante e bar; a new Executive Boardroom; a complete guest rooms, suites, casitas and corridor renovation; a new Camp Hyatt facility; and a redesign of the 14,000-square-foot Regency Ballroom.
Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch has been named one of the best resorts in the Southwest and will receive a prestigious 2008 Successful Meetings Pinnacle Award - the mark of excellence for meeting destinations. Industry experts liken the Pinnacle Award to prestigious travel awards such as the Mobil FiveStar and the AAA Five Diamond designations.
Associates at JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, the largest luxury resort in Arizona, gave back to the community by donating more than 1,800 children's toothbrushes and 400 tubes of toothpaste to the John C. Lincoln Children's Dental Clinic. Four large barrels of canned food also were collected to benefit hungry Valley residents through the Desert Mission Food Bank, and more than $2,200 was donated to the Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation. |
