Chefs from famous hotels have competed with each other in a contest held to introduce the dishes from the Ottoman cuisine.
The contest was held in the northern Turkish province of Amasya, which was known as the "city of shahzadahs" during the Ottoman era. Shahzadahs were crown-princes in the Ottoman Empire.
The team from Istanbul`s Four Seasons Hotel won the contest with a dish of lamb shanks. Hilton Istanbul Hotel`s team came on the second place with lamb stew and the Conrad Istanbul Hotel`s team on the third place with lamb with chard. The contest will be repeated in the provinces of Bursa, Edirne, Manisa and Istanbul in the coming months. |
