The event will bring the leaders of the design and delivery of motivational experiences and travel rewards, a multi-billion dollar global industry, to one of Africa's most celebrated destinations: Cape Town.
"The choice to go to South Africa fully aligns with SITE’s strategic vision," said SITE CEO Brenda Anderson. "As a global leader in our space, what better way to live our mission than to select a destination that exemplifies diversity, growth and an eye for the future?”
South Africa has long played host to businesses of the world who have selected the country as the location to execute motivational experience rich in nature, culture and heritage. The professional caliber of these experiences was exemplified by four South African organization winning SITE Crystal Awards in 2007. South Africa has proven it is building for the future and in 2010 the FIFA World Cup™ soccer tournament will be held in nine cities across South Africa. During this period thousands of people will visit South Africa and the matches will have an estimated cumulative worldwide audience of between 25 and 28 billion people. This will bring a passion for this African gem like no other time in history and SITE members and colleagues will be able to visit the country after it has reinvented itself for this stellar event.
Cape Town and the Western Cape will serve as the perfect destination for an industry that continues to evolve and emphasize the potential of human abilities and dreams. The southern-most tip of Africa is a place like no other. It’s where oceans and cultures meet and possibilities turn into realities. And in 2010 SITE will gather its global membership to engage with world class speakers and education sessions that will continue to move the business practices of our industry into the future.
