On 22 June, Pegasus Airlines took delivery of its fifth new generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft, having increased its order from 12 to 24 in 2008.

With the addition of the 189-seater Boeing 737-800 series in summer 2009, the Pegasus fleet now stands at 24, including its IZair fleet, sister company to Pegasus Airlines.

The plane is named after Pegasus captain Doğan Susin’s daughter Selin. Naming planes after new born daughters of Pegasus employees is now a company tradition.

Pegasus Airlines’ General Manager Sertaç Haybat recounts their satisfaction with the performance, good-value and Boeing’s quality support for the 737 series: “As the Pegasus family, we’re all excited about receiving the fifth of the 24 aircraft from our Boeing order. Our guests are extremely happy with the comfort provided by the Boeing 737 series. By the end of 2009, Pegasus, together with IZair, will have a fleet of 24 airplanes. In 2015, this number will have risen to 43.”
