He has worked in the transport sector for many years and is currently board chairman of the state-owned joint stock company Latvian Roadworks. Previously he was state secretary at the Ministry of Transportation and also headed its Investment and Transit Policy Department. Legzdins has also served on the boards of the ports in Riga and Liepaja.
