Where better to detoxify in 2010 than your own Buyers of these exclusive properties have their very own slice of spa heaven just moments from their doorstep. The stunning Hilltop Spa at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles opened in the summer and has already earned a reputation as one of the Indian Ocean's most beautiful spas. Situated at the Resort's highest point, perched on a hilltop at 80 metres above sea level, guests can enjoy spectacular views across the sparkling Bay of Petite Anse from timber sun decks, surrounded by tropical vegetation including coconut, mango and cinnamon trees.
Here you will find highly qualified therapists from Bali, Maldives and Bahamas who have undertaken extensive training in specialist techniques from Sodashi - considered the purest chemical-free product range on the market- and ila, which provides a bespoke range of treatments and rituals.
"Purchasers at Four Seasons Private Residences Seychelles enjoy exclusive, unlimited use of the Resort and Hilltop spa. Villa owners also benefit from butler service, in-villa dining with their own personal chefs and a beautifully maintained beach, allowing them to relax without a care in the world," says Dean Foley, International Sales Manager, Hamptons International, sales agent for the project. "The beach at Petite Anse also has a special secret; unusually and remarkably, its sand remains cool underfoot, even during the 30˚ plus temperatures. Why not detox in pure bliss here in 2010?"
As a resident, it can even be arranged for you to have spa treatments from the comfort of your own villa, for the ultimate in privacy. Many of the treatments incorporate island herbs and spices such as frangipani and lemongrass, combined in accordance with ancient recipes. Treatments include massages, body scrubs and wraps, facials, hydrotherapy baths and foot and hand treatments. One of the signature treatments is Shell Serenity - where warm heated sea shells, filled with sea minerals, dried sea kelp and algae, are pressed along the muscles to release knots and tension, increase circulation and alleviate stress.
The spa also includes a Juice Bar - serving herbal tonics, organic juices and home-made teas - and an extensive library of health and wellbeing literature, which can be enjoyed within private lounge areas or outdoors on extensive timber decks.
Located on the south west side of Mahé at Petite Anse, Four Seasons Private Residences Seychelles is perched amid lush vegetation in a Jurassic granite landscape. There are just 28 individually designed villas in total, each with uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean. 15 of the villas have already been sold to international buyers.
With unrivalled privacy in large freehold plots of one to three acres, each villa blends seamlessly with lush vegetation and the natural contours of the coastline. Award-winning architect Cheong Yew Kuan has created a highly individual design, by "wrapping" each residence around the rocky landscape, with a series of living spaces, over different levels. Spacious terraces overlook the ocean, providing extensive outdoor living areas and there are large verandas that open onto wide decks, framing infinity pools. These sheltered terraces appear to ‘float' above the ocean, providing exceptional views of the tropical jungle, pristine beaches and azure waters. One home has a 50 metre long infinity pool. The bedroom suites are remote from the main living area, and from each other, for complete privacy.
The interiors, created by Hirsch Bedner Associates, reflect the understated architectural design. The styling is discreet and low-key, with hand-hewn plank flooring and walls in rugged local granite. The look captures the authentic Seychellois style and uses fine fabrics and furnishings. Bose home entertainment systems, contemporary kitchens with premium appliances, clever lighting design, sunken baths, steam showers and an outside shower in the rocks combine comfort with the latest technology. Each home has its own unique features; one has a secret garden of protected palms while another boasts a boulder in the swimming pool which has been incorporated to create a stunning, natural feature.
The remoteness of Seychelles has preserved it as one of the most unspoilt archipelagos on earth. The tropical climate is between 24C and 30C year round. The islands are a haven for flora and fauna, with six National Marine Parks; a further 40 per cent of the land is protected as National Parks with the largest raised coral reef atoll at Aldabra boasting UNESCO World Heritage status. Prices start from $7 million.
