According to the data of Federal State Statistics Service, Turkey became the most popular country for the Russians in 2009. The 2nd place took Egypt. The 3rd most popular country turned out to be China. The increase of tourist flow from Russia in comparison with 2008 was noted in Israel (+36.5%), Dominican Republic (+29%), the USA (+28.6%), Switzerland (+28.2%) and Montenegro (+27.8%). In general, the number of Russian tourists traveling abroad decreased by 15.5% in 2009 (2 million people). The most considerable decline was noted in Lithuania (-43%), Croatia (-36.8%) and China (-51.5%).
